The water is the source of life since it ensures the health of the individual. It is the most essential component accounting for 50% to 60% of the total body weight of a normal human being; it transports nutritious substances to the organs and the tissues that need it, while it has no caloric content.
It is essential for the proper functioning of the circulatory and digestive system (digestion, absorption and metabolism of foods), blood pressure, of the brain function (3/4 of the brain is water), while it helps with focus and memory problems, to regulate the body temperature, while studies have shown that it helps to protect against a variety of diseases (colds, constipations, urinary tract infections, kidney problems, and bladder cancer).
Furthermore, since man can survive 70 days without food but not more than 15 days without water, the everyday and continuous intake of sufficient quantities of water, it is absolutely necessary and vital in order to achieve an optimal health. In order for the body to be properly hydrated, the average person should consume 8 – 10 glasses of water per day. The intake must start after waking up in the morning, to continue in regular intervals and in small quantities throughout the day.
