Our history

RAINBOW GROUP was established in 1999 and is headquartered in Acharnes, Attica, with main objective the provision of water cooler machines of bottled water and the distribution of these bottles (18,9 liters) within the wider Attica region. Realizing the lack in the sector or sanitary maintenance and disinfection, we were the first to treat the cooling machine (cooler) and its corresponding bottle as food, which is why we sought the best certified decontamination method, while also seeking bottled water to meet maximum possible standards.

Thus, we conducted a relation of exclusive collaboration with the British water cooler manufacturer Ebac Ltd, whose water coolers, apart from their innovative design were constructed based on the hygiene of the client.

In 2000, among all the Greek Mineral Water labels, we reached an exclusive partnership with the Natural Mineral Water ZAGORI (click here to learn the different types of bottled water). The perfect constitution of this mineral water, its unique collection and bottling, perfectly matched the high standards we had set.

In 2001, after the wide acceptance by the customers, we decided our extension throughout Greece. We created the ZAGORI-RAINBOW GROUP S.A, with its seat in Ioannina, and through 4 branches and many representatives, we are now serving all parts of Greece.

In 2005, the company certified its quality management systems that are implemented, according with the international standards ISO 9001:2000 and ELOT 1416 (HACCP), from the international certification body BVQI. The company was the 1st company in Greece to achieve a certified quality system. .

In 2008 the company was certified according to the standards of the European Bottled Watercooler Association (E.B.W.A) from the NSF, for the Athens premises, as well as for the subsidiary premises in Thessaloniki.

We remain the first company within the sector with certified quality system according to: ISO 9001:2000, ISO 22000 (HACCP), CAC RCP/1 (HACCP) and EBWA. Today, the company is certified at the 1st place within the sector, serving 35.000 customers with 45.000 water coolers.
